Dear GDU Parents,
We have taken guidelines from Governor Kemp’s order, CDC guidelines and also added guidelines specific to our business so that we feel safe allowing our dancers and staff back into the studio.
(We will also continue providing some online class options as well.)
We will be limiting the amount of people in each location (upstairs, downstairs) at a time, including dancers, teachers, and staff.
Our lobbies will be closed to parents and siblings. Parents will be able to watch classes via zoom.
GDU staff and cleaning crew will continue to clean and sanitize public areas (lobbies, classrooms and bathrooms) throughout each day. We will be adding additional staff to supplement teachers to allow control of movement and required cleaning to take place. All staff will be subject to strict temperature testing and hand sanitation rules during arrival, departure, and throughout the day.
Staff will be wearing masks at all times.
Class arrival, in class, and class departure…
Staff will meet parents at the front door and check your dancer in, take their temperature, and give them hand sanitizer before they enter. Any fever over 100 will not be allowed to enter the facility. All arrivals will be through a single entrance to avoid contact between arriving and departing classes (see departure info below).
In class, we will be spacing dance rooms to create social distance recommended spacing (6 feet between students’ dance spaces). We will modify classroom activities to minimize very close contact among students and teachers.
Water fountains will be closed. Dancers should bring a clearly marked water bottle. Only hydration and dance shoes will be allowed into the studio areas. Space will be provided in the closed lobbies to leave other items like purses or phones.
Bathrooms will be open and will be cleaned between class sessions.
Dancers will depart through the door not used for arrivals to avoid contact (see arrival above). Dancers will be provided hand sanitizer prior to leaving the building. Classes will end 5 minutes prior to the next class start time to further reduce contact opportunity.
For the safety of our staff and dancers, please do not send your student to class if they have been recently sick or come into contact with someone who has tested positive to Covid-19 or was suspected to have had Covid-19.
By sending your dancer you agree that they have not had the following symptoms within the last 3 days without medication:
Flu like symptoms
New loss of smell or taste
These new processes and procedures will be modified/adjusted as needed.
